Paddle surfing is one of the trendiest sports.

Also known as “stand up paddle surfing” (SUP), this discipline consists of standing on a surfboard (actually, it is a slightly larger and more stable board), while using a single-bladed paddle to navigate.

Paddle surfing is simple. And although it requires some technique and is a complete exercise to get in shape (upper trunk, lower trunk and legs are worked to maintain balance), it is suitable for people of all ages.

In addition, and unlike other water sports, paddle surfing can be practiced both in the sea and in rivers or lakes, and it is not necessary to have waves. In fact, it is better if the sea is calm and windless.

Mallorca, our particular paradise of Paddle Surfing
Mallorca is an essential destination for many sportsmen, who find in our island all the conditions to practice outdoor activities: beach, mountains, good weather, rocky areas, paths, hiking routes, etc.

In Mallorca there are also many water sports schools where you can get started in disciplines such as SUP, take lessons or rent equipment (surfboard, paddle, vest, etc.).

Regarding where to paddle surf in Mallorca, we highlight:

Las Malgrats

One of the best places in Mallorca for paddle surfing.

The Malgrats Islands, declared a Nature Reserve in 2004, are characterized by their crystal clear and calm waters, and are a perfect spot for stand up paddle surfing and appreciating the incredible views of the area.

In fact, this place is chosen by many for paddle surfing, an ideal way to enjoy the reefs and the surrounding fauna.

Santa Ponça and Palliser

Santa Ponça is a very touristic village.

Located in the southwest of Mallorca, it has two beaches: Santa Ponça and Caló d’en Pallisser.

The latter is known locally as the “small beach”. It is quiet and has few services, being perfect for paddle surfing.

Santa Ponça is also the recommended starting point if you want to do a SUP route in Las Malgrats.

The beach of Muro

Muro beach is one of our recommendations for paddle surfing in Mallorca. This beach in the northwest of the island is more than 6 kilometers long and is one of the longest in the archipelago.

In addition, it is divided into several sectors and has all the services. For this reason, many water sports schools have chosen it for their classes.

Alcudia Beach

Playa de Alcudia is just over 3 kilometers long and is a true paradise thanks to its two great attractions: white sand and clear waters.

It is located in the north of Mallorca and has all the amenities.

In addition, it is one of the Mallorcan beaches with blue flag, being ideal for paddle surfing safely.Vella Cove
Cala Vella is the only cove in the municipality of Llucmajor, in the south of the island.

It is a real haven of peace, somewhat isolated from the town center, little traffic and with an enormous beauty. In fact, it is formed in a cliff to which it is only possible to access through the sea.

Thanks to the tranquility of the surroundings and its flat waters, Cala Vella is an idyllic place for paddle surfing in Mallorca.

El Toro

El Toro Beach is located very close to Pollença, in the northeast end of Mallorca, in a town famous for its beaches of translucent and calm waters and for its charming spots by the sea.
One of its beaches for paddle surfing is El Toro, also known as Racó de sa Fragata.

This beach is striking for its reddish sands, which are protected by the Port Adriano seawall.

As it is not a very touristic beach, you will not find many sport schools here, but it is a good place if you have your own material and you are willing to enjoy the sea.
